Scholarships for Community College Students
Looking for scholarships while you're in community college or as you prepare to transfer? You've come to the right place.
Remember that many community colleges offer programs for students to study for free or cheap. A great place to start is by inquiring as to whether your school has these programs, or other forms of financial aid. There are also scholarships that are only offered to specific community colleges. Check out your school's scholarship page for more information.
Jack Kent Cooke Transfer Scholarship
According to their site, they offer the following to their scholarship awardees:
- Up to $55,000 per year to attend a four-year accredited undergraduate school.
- Ability to pursue any area of study.
- Personal advising about selecting a college and navigating financial aid.
- Multifaceted advising about how to transition to a four-year college and maximize the student experience.
- Opportunity to apply for the Internship Stipend program, Conference and Travel Stipend, and Graduate Scholarship.

AAWCC National Board Scholarship
- One $500 scholarship per region is awarded to a a student who meets the national board scholarship criteria
- open to women currently attending any community college in the United States.
- The scholarship is also available to women who are transferring to a 4-year institution and have attended any community college in the United States within the last 3 years.
Check your community college's scholarship page, as AAWCC also has local chapters that provide awards to their local community colleges.
Tau Sigma Honor Society Scholarship
- Scholarships are given to students who are currently pursuing Bachelor’s degrees at the institution they transferred to
- Chapter members are notified when scholarships applications open - thus this scholarship is only applicable to universities that have chapters, a full list can be found on their website.
Darrel Hess Community College Geography Scholarship
- Deadline to apply is typically in December
- Two $1,500 scholarships will be awarded to students from community colleges, junior colleges, city colleges, or similar two-year educational institutions
- Limited to students who will be transferring as geography majors to 4-years
AICPA Foundation Two-Year Transfer Scholarship Award
- 40 recipients will receive an award of $5,000
- Limited to students who are planning to transfer from a two-year college to a four-year institution
- Must be aiming to complete a degree in accounting or an accounting-related field
